Mll Y. is a young 20-year-old woman affected by an oncological pathology diagnosed in the end of summer 2015. This young woman arrived in Switzerland at the age of 15 and is currently successfully doing an apprenticeship. Until now, Mlle Y. had a subsidy from the Hospice Général for her rent. Unfortunately, the steps taken by the Cantonal Population Office (OCP) were not favorable and she found herself without any financial aid in October. The medical body at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) took steps to help resolve this situation as quickly as possible. After receiving the request from the public and community health nurse at HUG, the association took care of the rent for October and November 2015. Her situation since adjusted and Mlle Y. currently receives aid from the OCP. The association was in this way able to alleviate this young woman of an unwanted burden amid her health conditions.
