The public and community health nurses at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) contacted s in March 2015 to present us with the urgent situation of this young Tunisian man. It concerned financing a round trip to his home country as quickly as possible in order for his to say goodbye to his parents. M. Y. was about to undergo an amputation to attempt to slow down the progression of his disease. His wish was to see his parents again before this operation so that they maintained an intact image of him and would not realize the gravity of the situation. Thus, our association financed his train and airplane travel so that his wish could be fulfilled and he could be back in time for his scheduled surgery. M. Y. returned with “stars in his eyes”, his nurse told us.
