We receive a new request for financial aid from the public health nurse at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) in October 2014. It is about a young deaf-mute man of 25 in the oncology ward. He is doing an apprenticeship to become a baker and lives with his parents. His name is Shadi. Shadi had been able to finance a gym membership for himself, thanks to a small job during his remission, as he realized that it did him a world of good. He is no longer able to work at the moment but would love to continue his physical activity, which he cares deeply about. He is therefore looking for financial aid for his membership. The Frédéric Fellay Association decided to renew Shadi’s gym membership for a year so that he can continue an activity that is of great help to him.
