The public health nurses at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) contacted us in March 2016 because M. M., a young father of two, was approaching the end of his life in the oncology ward. His wife wished to be close to him for his last days. It was thus an urgent request to, on one hand, find a hotel accommodation for the family that did not live in Geneva, but on the other hand also to quickly establish childcare to free the mother. The association paid for the hotel, as well as the baby-sitters for 3 nights.
